TheaterEars Releases New Exclusive Poster for this Summer’s highly anticipated film Blue Beetle
Burbank, CA – August 3, 2023 - This week TheaterEars released an exclusive movie poster for the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures fun-filled action adventure, Blue Beetle. The movie will be in theaters August 18th and marks the first time the fan favorite DC Super Hero comes to the big screen. Blue Beetle will be available in Spanish with the Theater Ears app.
This is the first exclusive poster for TheaterEars, an iOS and Android based app that empowers Spanish speaking moviegoers by giving them the ability to listen to films at the movie theater in Spanish with just a pair of earbuds and their smartphone.
“We are so honored that our first exclusive poster is for Blue Beetle,” commented Dan Mangru, TheaterEars CEO. “This is such an important movie, with Blue Beetle being the first film to star the beloved DC Super Hero, his alter ego, Jaime Reyes, and the entire Reyes family, making it a true watermark moment for the Latino community.”
The exclusive poster released by TheaterEars shows the titular star, Xolo Maridueña, in his Blue Beetle costume, set against a stark white background with the glow of an emerging light.
“For many different reasons, we felt that this movie represents new beginnings in film and in culture, and collaborating with Warner Bros. to create this poster will help to launch Blue Beetle into the zeitgeist,” said Mangru.
Blue Beetle, directed by Ángel Manuel Soto, boasts an impressive Latino cast that includes Maridueña (“Cobra Kai”), along with Adriana Barraza (“Rambo: Last Blood,” “Thor”) as Jaime’s grandmother, Nana, Damían Alcázar (“Narcos,” “Narcos: Mexico”) as his father, Elpidia Carrillo (“Mayans M.C.,” the “Predator” films) as his mother, Bruna Marquezine (“Maldivas,” “God Save the King”) as Jenny Kord, Raoul Max Trujillo (the “Sicario” films, “Mayans M.C.”) as Carapax, with Oscar winner Susan Sarandon (“Monarch,” “Dead Man Walking”) as Victoria Kord, and George Lopez (the “Rio and “Smurf” franchises) as Jaime’s Uncle Rudy. Written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (“Miss Bala”), based on characters from DC, the film is a Warner Bros. Pictures Presentation of a Safran Company Production, produced by John Rickard and Zev Foreman, with Walter Hamada, Galen Vaisman and Garrett Grant executive producing.
“Blue Beetle is a film for everyone, especially families, and we want every abuela y abuelo, tía y tío, and all loved ones who prefer Spanish to be able to enjoy this movie and all movies in the movie theater in Spanish with TheaterEars. We find that being able to share the communal experience of a movie brings families, couples, and friends together in a medium that truly has no parallel.”
Warner Bros. Pictures has a strong commitment to diversity, working with TheaterEars since 2018, and releasing many films such as Barbie, Joker, The Batman, and more.
TheaterEars is currently used by over 1.5 million Spanish speakers in the United States and Puerto Rico. The app is available as a free download on the App Store and Google Play.
