Top Movies Coming Soon on Premium Video On Demand (PVOD) and Streaming in 2021

If there’s anything that the last 10 months have taught us, take nothing for granted.

There was a time where you could have pushed going out to a concert for the next time your favorite band was in town, or put off going to a movie theater because you just went a few weeks ago.

Today we live in the age of streaming and PVOD (Premium Video On-Demand). Closed (for now) are the local movie houses that we experienced so many big moments in side, and here is the ease and convenience of streaming.

Studios are still figuring out what model works best.

For instance, Disney wanted to try the PVOD distribution route for its remake of Mulan, which saw the debut of Disney+ Premier Access, Disney’s version of PVOD. While few know the exact results in terms of viewership or revenue, Disney claims that Mulan’s use of PVOD was a success. However, when it came time for their next release, Disney Pixar’s Soul, Disney opted to release the movie for instant streaming on Disney+ with no additional upcharge.

On the other hand, Warner Bros. seems to be going the way of simultaneous box-office and streaming releases, via its HBO Max platform.

Here’s our list of top movies hitting PVOD and Streaming for 2021 right now:

Anyone who grew up in the 1990’s can easily remember the impact of Mortal Kombat. The fate of the world is at hand, and citizens must now duel to the death in a martial arts tournament known as Mortal Kombat. We can’t wait.
